At Texas Director, a part of the Director Success Academy network, we are dedicated to empowering early childhood professionals through comprehensive training and unwavering support. As the leading provider of the director credentialling in Texas, As of 2025, we have helped over 4,500 directors earn their credential. Our commitment ensures that our courses meet and exceed state standards, approved since 2002 by Texas Child Care Licensing.
Our Mission
Our mission is to cultivate confident and competent leaders in early childhood education. We aim to equip aspiring directors with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to create nurturing and effective learning environments for children and educators nationwide.
Meet Our Founders
Carrie Casey and Kate Woodward Young, M.Ed. bring a combined six decades of experience in early childhood education and leadership. Carrie's expertise spans a wide range of settings, including in-home care, nonprofits, and school districts, and she has successfully owned and operated four childcare centers. Kate has worn many hats in the industry, from operating a registered family home and serving as a director, to instructing future leaders and coaching executives.
Their journey began with an invitation to author a director credentialing program. Driven by their passion for empowering early childhood professionals, they pioneered the first weekend format in 2002 and launched the first online Director Credential program in 2005—revolutionizing access to high-quality training and equipping leaders with the skills they need to succeed with confidence.

Our Programs
We offer a range of training and credentialling programs to support early childhood leaders at every stage of their careers:
Self-Paced Course
Provides flexibility for busy professionals by allowing participants to progress at their own pace.
Instructor-Led Course
Offers interactive online and face-to-face classes led by experienced instructors, fostering collaboration with a cohort of peers.
Executive Leadership Credential
Prepares directors with at least five years of experience to obtain the non-renewing license issued by Texas Childcare Licensing.
