Do You Always Need the Credential?

NO, there are other options.  But many leadership positions in Texas licensed childcare programs require you to demonstrate that you can be a licensed director.  The Director Credential is the best way to do that.

However, there are a few exceptions:

• Single-skill programs (such as dance, sports, or art programs) may not require it.

• Temporary programs (such as short-term holiday camps) may also be exempt.
